In my last note, I shared how vision boards actually help us achieve our goals.
But if today youāre feeling like meāoverwhelmed by end-of-year tasks and not even wanting to THINK about new goalsātodayās Tea Time isnāt about adding anything new to your to-do list.
Weāre talking about what can come off the list. Woo!
December is already full by default.
Thereās the holiday baking. The matching pajamas. Figuring out what mischief or magic your Elf on the Shelf (or Mensch on a Bench) is up to tonight. Did you contribute to the teacher gifts yet? How about mailing out those holiday cards? (Oh, and before you can even mail the holiday cards, youāve coordinated outfits, booked a photographer, ordered the cards, and updated addresses.) Donāt forget the stocking stuffers. By the way, itās spirit week. š«

Most of this comes from a good place: we want our loved ones to feelā¦loved.
But making things feel special doesnāt mean you have to exhaust yourself. (Yes, Iām talking to myself here too.)
In my vision board workshop, I ask people to identify what drains them. I ask them to name something they want to stop, maybe forever, maybe just right now.
And thatās my question for YOU today:
What is something that drains you? And what would happen if you justā¦took it off your list?
For me: I’ve said ānoā to attending some holiday parties that would’ve required choosing and buying a gift, and using some of my extrovert energy. š« I didnāt order matching pajamas this yearā¦and Iāve never done Elf on the Shelf. š¬ I think my family still loves me. I think theyāre still having an amazing holiday season.
So if youāre feeling spread a little too thin right now, maybe try this small experiment: Close your eyes for a second, and see what pops in your head as something thatās draining youāthen ask yourself if itās something you actually HAVE to do, or if it might be pressure you can let go of.
Wishing you some peace, quiet, and joy this week, friend.
Hugs,
Nicole
