Last week, I asked you to keep your fingers crossed for me as I tried to escape Seattle ahead of a bomb cyclone—and your good vibes worked! My flight left on time, so thank you! 🙌🏻
But back home, the storm hit harder than expected. With no power for days, schools and daycare shut down, leaving my husband to juggle work, our three kids, and two different hotel stays. (Have you ever tried to take Zoom calls with a 2-year-old in the background? If not, just imagine juggling flaming swords…while a tiny human enthusiastically demands more snacks and “a different movie” every 10 minutes.) 😬
While he held down the chaotic fort like a pro, I got the gift of writing this from the Bahamas.
This trip feels like a dream—and not just because of the soft sand beaches and clear, aqua water. It’s a beautiful reminder that life can surprise you with better-than-imagined outcomes when you’re open to possibilities.
Here’s the wild part: a year ago, I didn’t even know my travel buddy, Karina. We met as accountability partners in an online, business mentorship program this past spring—her from her home in Munich, Germany, and me in Seattle in the US…and now we’ve met in person for the first time across the globe, brainstorming about our businesses and encouraging each other to dream even bigger.
But let me step back for a minute—in January, I created a vision board with a picture of a yacht in gorgeous blue water (bottom right):
And it never occurred to me that joining a business group about publicity would result in this—brainstorming with a buddy in the Bahamas looking out at yachts and sailboats from the front porch. Look at the similarities! 🤯
One of my favorite affirmations is:
“Things always work out for me. I always get what I want—or better.”
And being here is proof. I was already excited to be paired with Karina as an accountability buddy (she’s an expert at thoughtful, strategic branding), and then she invited me to join her in the Bahamas. My exact response:
One of the highlights of this trip has been helping Karina create a vision board for an area in her personal life. She used my vision board template to design a stunning reflection of her dreams—and watching her light up with excitement has been pure magic.
This whole experience has been a powerful reminder of how visualization, mindset, and taking small, aligned actions can open doors to the unexpected.
