In a conversation last week with my friend, Beth (who is a fabulous leadership coach), she said, “We’re not suffering from a lack of information; we’re lacking implementation.”
That resonates across so many areas of my life. My doctor telling me, “Exercise more, and watch portion sizes,” is NOT what’s going to get me healthier—that’s eye-rolling common sense. Me DOING what I know to do is the obvious key.
And when I think about how I make a living, it’s by teaching tips and tools on happiness, wellbeing, mental health, and overall creating the life of your dreams. I do this through workshops on:
But is this what you actually need?
Is more information on “how to be happy” why you’re here? (not rhetorical, btw)
Interestingly, before I even had this conversation with Beth, one night my brain was moving a million miles an hour, and I had this thought of creating dedicated implementation time. The name I came up with was “30 Thursdays.” (Of course, my ADHD brain immediately told me I needed to look up, then purchase, the domain.) 😆
This was born out of the idea that *I* know tools to support my best self, but I don’t always do them.
So what if I knew that I had set time on my calendar, and a virtual room of others also invested in personal growth, and we “body-doubled” to support ourselves?
The thought is it’d be 5 minutes information (a journaling prompt, a meditation, something simple) + 25 minutes implementation. No breakouts, no cameras, no chatting, just time for you to DO.
What do you think of this idea? Is this something you’d be interested in? Or is this just a midnight dream that doesn’t have legs? 🤔
The reality is I’ve been doing a lot of information sharing in the Tea Time newsletter for the past 5 years, and I’m checking in to see if that’s truly what’s most helpful to you. Please don’t be shy with sharing thoughts; I love hearing from you and want to keep creating things you find helpful.
